Fall Makeup Tutorial: Featuring Sleek i-Divine Sunset Palette

I came up with this affordable Fall makeup tutorial using the i-Divine Sunset Palette from Sleek Makeup. If first primed my eyelids with the Palladio Herbal Eyeshadow Primer.

Next I used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Rust as a base on my eyelids.

I applied the rust color to the inner and outer third of my eyelid.

I applied orange to the center of the lid.

I applied the burgundy color to the crease.

Next I applied black to the outer V.

I used this champagne color as my highlight.

Applied NYX Slide On Eye Pencil in Jet Black to the upper lash line.

Applied NYX Slide On Eye Pencil in Brown Perfection to the lower lash line.

I applied this pale pink shade to the inner corner.

Applied Maybelline Falsies® Big Eyes® Mascara to the upper and lower lashes.

I used the NYX Powder Blush in Cocoa as a contour to my cheekbones.

I applied NYX Powder Blush in Desert Rose to the apples of my cheeks.

The NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Absolute Red as my lip color was the final touch to this look.

Homecoming Style 2013

This past weekend October 12, 2013, my youngest daughter Naomi went to Homecoming. She is currently a sophomore in high school so she was really excited to go a second year.

Naomi has been telling her friends and classmates about my blog. One of her classmates asked if I would be able to do her makeup for homecoming.

I assured Lynne’s parents I would keep the makeup age appropriate.

I used NYX and Maybelline on Lynne’s eyes. I really liked the way Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Pure Pigments in Improper Copper looked on her.

I did Naomi’s hair and makeup. The dress she got from her big sister’s closet. The shrug and booties are mine.

ULTA Haul: Featuring NYX and China Glaze

It’s been a while since I last visited ULTA. One thing for certain I knew I couldn’t walk out of there without buying nail polish. 😉

I’ve read great things about the NYX Butter Gloss and Wonder Pencil.

Wonder Pencil in Dark. Butter Gloss in Cherry Pie and Tiramisu

The Butter Gloss is very pigmented and leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturized. I like the Wonder Pencil because it’s an alternative to using white on my waterline.

HauteLook Haul: Featuring Ouidad and NYX

I’ve always been curious about the hair care line Ouidad. I know the line is geared towards people with kinky, curly, and wavy hair. Ouidad has been on HauteLook several times before. I decided to place my order the most recent time Ouidad was on HauteLook.

Normally when I co-wash my hair (using conditioner to wash hair) I will either use Quench Conditioner from Hair Rules or the Coconut Co-Wash from As I Am. With the weather being hot and humid in my area I need to wash my hair more often. I figured now would be a good time to try out the Curl Co-Wash.

Using a leave in conditioner has made a difference in my hair care routine. I also wanted to try the Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner.

It’s always a treat whenever NYX is on HauteLook. This cosmetic is already affordable but I just love the sets that are offered on HauteLook.

The Ultra Peal Mania pigments are very pigmented. I prefer to use pigments with a damp eyeshadow brush though.
