Affordable Prom Style

My youngest daughter recently went to her first prom. Naomi didn’t want to spend a lot of money. She is only a sophomore in high school and this wasn’t her school’s prom.

Image

I used mostly BH Cosmetics. The foundation I used was the BH Liquid Foundation in Mocha. I also used colors from the BH Malibu Eyeshadow & Blush Palette for this look.

The dress and shoes Naomi wore is actually her sister’s. The jewelry I purchased was from Charming Charlie (the jewelry was on clearance too).

Not bad for her first prom. I taught her well. 😉

Shea Moisture Haul from Walgreens

Image

This week all Shea Moisture products are buy one get one free at Walgreens. You need the Walgreens Rewards card to get the savings though.

ImageMy youngest daughter and I already use the Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo and Restorative Conditioner. We are both pleased with how our hair has been responding to this combination.

Image

ImageSince my youngest daughter already does a good job of taking care of her hair, I bought the Deep Treatment Masque and Extra-Moisture Detangler for her. I know she will continue with her hair routine using these products.

The Shea Moisture product line does make it easier to stick to a natural hair routine. 🙂

Nature’s Shea Butter Purchase from HauteLook

My skin is really enjoying the benefits of using shea butter. As long as I use shea butter, my skin doesn’t get ashy. I previously purchased the Nature’s Shea Butter Sample pack from HauteLook. I shared this with my daughters.

I ordered another sample pack when Nature’s Shea Butter was on HauteLook again.

This time around I received two of the West African Shea Butter. That works for me. 😀

Getting Back on the Fitness Wagon

Once again I’m getting back on the fitness wagon. I usually drop off a little in my fitness routine during the Winter months. I’m just not motivated during that time of the year. I made a promise to take better care of myself. I am making it a point to carve out more time to exercise. It has always been easier for me to exercise once the weather warms up.

I am easing my way into things by participating in the 30 Day Squat Challenge. Here is the link http://www.fitsugar.com/30-Day-Squat-Challenge-30806625

One of my Facebook friends suggested a group of use should to this challenge. So far so good. 😉 It is always nice to have a positive group of people around you during your fitness journey.

I also purchased two pairs of running shoes from Famous Footwear.

As always consult with your doctor before you start any fitness program.

Ardell and Andrea Lash Purchase from ULTA

Image

On my recent visit to ULTA I noticed there was a sale on Ardell and Andrea false eyelashes. The twin packs of false eyelashes were $3.99 each. The single pack of lashes was $2.99 each.

ImageUntil recently my favorite accent lashes were the Ardell #305. My new favorite accent lashes are now the Ardell #315.

ImageI decided to try the Andrea #53 false eyelashes. What I like about these lashes is the fact they look natural.

ImageI also purchased a twin pack of the Ardell #120 false eyelashes in an effort to step out of my comfort zone.

I didn’t forget to use my 20% off coupon either. 😉 Total purchase before sales tax $16.75.

What I Got Myself for Mother’s Day (2014 Edition)

I make it a point to get myself something nice for Mother’s Day. This time around I found some really affordable gifts. 🙂

Image

I’ve had my eyes on this nail polish set for quite some time. I originally received the Pardon My French mini nail polish from Color Club in the June 2013 Birchbox. This color was from the Wanderlust collection. I would periodically check the Birchbox website to see if this four piece mini set was still available.

Image

Birchbox offered another collection I liked as well. I received the Heirloom Pearls mini nail polish from Color Club in the April 2014 Birchbox. This color was from the Gala’s Gems collection.

These palettes from BH Cosmetics have been out for quite some time now. I was on the fence on whether or not I was going to purchase them. I kept seeing them on sale. I decided to buy the San Francisco and Malibu palettes during their Mother’s Day sale. I also purchased the liquid eyeliner.

I first found out about Nature’s Shea Butter when this company was on HauteLook. I ordered the Taste of Shea Mini Sampler. Nature’s Shea Butter had a Mother’s Day Sale on their website. This time around I ordered my favorites from the mini sampler pack. I also received samples of their soap.
