The calendar may say it’s Spring, however; Winter hasn’t quite let go in my neck of the woods. I live in the northeast section of the United States. This past Winter was listed as one of the coldest on record. There were even some below zero days and a lot of snow. Pittsburgh, PA has had some warm days but that weather hasn’t lasted.
Winter is extremely hard on my skin and hair. Here are the products I used.
- Ion Reconstructor
- Shea Oil
- Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner Repair Cream
- Trader Joe’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
- Shea Butter
- Carol’s Daughter Healthy Hair Butter
- Carol’s Daughter Tui Leave In Conditioner
I used the Carol’s Daughter Tui Leave In Conditioner to add extra moisture to my hair. The dry air makes my hair feel crunchy. This leave in conditioner eliminated that.
I used the Carol’s Daughter Healthy Hair Butter as a part of the LOC method (leave in, oil, cream) in my hair routine. This cream is the last step of that.
The bitter cold caused dry patches on my face. I used the Organic Virgin Coconut Oil from Trader Joe’s to remedy that.
The shea oil was a part of the LOC method in my hair routine. I used to use castor oil to seal my ends. I like the shea oil much better.
I hardly used traditional lotion during the Winter. My skin wasn’t ashy at all when I used the shea butter.
I’ve gotten in the habit giving my hair protein treatments. That’s why I use Ion Reconstructor as a deep conditioner.
I’ve read some really positive reviews on the Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner Repair Cream. This is the first step in LOC method of my hair routine.
I will probably make some adjustments to my beauty routine once the weather warms up. One thing for certain I am keeping the products for the LOC hair method and the Ion Reconstructor. They seem to be working.
