Coastal Scents had an excellent sale to kick off the Holiday Season.
When I saw the shea butter was on sale I made sure to purchase 5lbs of it. Hopefully this amount will last me the entire winter. I refuse to be ashy. Shea butter is what saved my skin last year since it was extremely cold at times. The dry heat from the furnace can easily wreck my skin if I don’t take care of it.
I also purchased another bottle of the liquid black soap. My oldest daughter mainly uses this soap. She is trying to get in the habit of taking better care of her skin.
It is always nice to receive a sample eyeshadow palette as well.
Nature’s Shea Butter had a sale earlier this month when everything was 30% off.
I’ve used the one ounce size of the Nilotica Shea Butter. This sale gave me the chance to purchase the six ounce size of the East African shea butter.
I am a fan of the handmade soaps from Nature’s Shea Butter. Some shower gels are far too drying on my skin. The handmade soaps are gentle and cleanse quite nicely.
Handmade Vanilla Sandalwood Bar Soap
Almond Meal Exfoliating Bar
Ocean Mist (another generous soap sample) 🙂

I have been patiently waiting for a good bit of the Summer for Nature’s Shea Butter to appear on HauteLook again. This time around I stuck to beauty items I actually needed. My package arrived just in time for the start of Fall. I was also out of the White Tea & Shea Anti-Aging Facial Cream.
The White Tea & Shea Anti-Aging Cream is a great moisturizer. My youngest daughter also uses this. Maybe I should have bought two.
I make it a point to use the 100% All Natural Organic Argan Oil at night. I will also use the argan oil under my moisturizer when the weather gets cold. I feel like I have an extra layer of protection for my skin.
I do plan on placing another order the next time Nature’s Shea Butter is on HauteLook. 🙂
Coastal Scents recently had a sale on all of their natural products. I was really low on shea butter and black soap. These two items have been my trusted beauty must haves.
The Liquid Black Soap has always intrigued me. It’s worth a try.
- Moisturizing Black Soap with Cocoa Butter
- Moisturizing Black Soap with Shea Butter – Unscented
I’ve already used the regular black soap from Coastal Scents. I will be trying these out in my skincare routine.
I don’t like the way my skin feels when I used regular lotion. This was definitely a much needed purchase. 🙂
Natural hair group It’s a Natural Thang held their Summer Meet Up Saturday, July 25th. The theme of the meet up was Generations. Attendees had the opportunity to bring their children and parents to share in this experience. There was also Little Miss Natural for little girls to showcase their natural hair styles.
Goody bag with samples of Taliah Waajid™ haircare products.
Won this cute hat in a raffle. Hat courtesy of Sweet Hearted.
Purchased this natural bug repellant from Sweet T’s Beauty All Natural Bath and Body Products.
I couldn’t resist purchasing the Vanilla Sandalwood Butta from Good Body Stuff Body Scrubs Body and Butters.
Participants in Little Miss Natural.
I took advantage of the buy one get one free sale Walgreen’s had on Shea Moisture products.
This is what I purchased.
- Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner
- Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore Treatment Masque
- Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo
- Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner
I stuck with the Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo and Restorative Conditioner. I didn’t feel the need to try a different shampoo and conditioner at this time.
I started using the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner during the Winter. It’s been a great addition to my haircare routine.
I’ve had my eyes on the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Growth & Restore Treatment Masque for quite some time. I’m glad Walgreen’s had this in stock.

I live in the Northeast section of the United States. I would have to say this past Winter was one of the coldest on record. At least I was prepared when it came to my beauty routine. The first day of Spring doesn’t matter much in my area either. It’s still get cold. March and April do have a few warm teaser days yet I’m still using my Winter beauty routine. My furnace came on earlier this month too. LOL!
- Coastal Scents Unrefined Shea Butter
- Jamaican Mango & Lime Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Rosemary
- Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner
- Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette
- Maybelline Lash Sensational ™ Full Fan Effect Mascara
- NYX Butter Lip Gloss – Devils Food Cake
- NYX Butter Lip Gloss – Raspberry Tart
- Elizabeth Mott You’re so Fine Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner – Glitterati
- MAC Pro Longwear Concealer – NC50
- MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural – Dark
I am not surprised I used the entire tub of the Coastal Scents Unrefined Shea Butter. This shea butter did a great job of protecting my skin from the bitter cold. I needed that extra layer of protection from the wind too.
In the past I have used shea oil to seal my ends after washing my hair. This time around I used the Jamaican Mango & Lime Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Rosemary. The JBCO made my ends less prone to breakage and helped maintain the length of my hair. I also used the JBCO as a massage oil for my scalp.
The cold temperatures and the dry heat from the furnace are the main culprits as to why my hair and scalp are so dry. The Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner will be a staple in my haircare routine.
I purchased the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette during the Holiday season. I really love this palette. It has a nice mix of neutrals, bold colors, mattes, and shimmers. Most mornings I finish doing my makeup and work. This palette is travel friendly.
The Maybelline Lash Sensational™ Full Fan Effect Mascara delivers on making my lashes long and thick. I don’t feel the need to wear false eyelashes whenever I use this mascara.
NYX Butter Lip Gloss – Raspberry Tart, NYX Butter Lip Gloss – Devils Food Cake
If you don’t already know the NYX Butter Lip Gloss is fantastic. I am never disappointed when I try a lippie from NYX. The Butter Lip Glosses have great color payoff and leave the lips moisturized.
I actually received the Elizabeth Mott You’re So Fine Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Glitterati in the November 2014 ipsy bag. I really like the brush on this eyeliner. It was really easy to apply the eyeliner close to the lashline. I was seriously rocking the winged liner.
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural – Dark, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer – NC50
Being pressed for time in the mornings I wanted something that would even out my skin tone quickly. The MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and MAC Mineralize Skin Finish was my go to combination. The Pro Longwear Concealer provides great coverage and a little goes a long way. The Mineralize Skin Finish gave me a nice healthy glow.

For me it makes perfect sense to purchase Nature’s Shea Butter products whenever they are on HauteLook. This line support fair trade and the shea butter is of high quality. The affordable prices on HauteLook are hard to resist.
The Lavender Vanilla Unrefined Whipped Shea Butter is one of my favorite scents from Nature’s Shea Butter.
I also purchased the White Tea and Shea Bundle. I really wanted to try the White Tea & Shea Anti-Aging Facial Cream. I am already using the Argan Oil from Nature’s Shea Butter as a part of my skincare routine. The face cream will make a nice addition. You can’t go wrong with the handmade soaps either. I really like these soaps since they don’t dry out my skin.
This is my first HauteLook purchase of 2015. I’ve been making an effort to buy things I actually need from HauteLook. They have fantastic sales and it’s easy to want to buy everything. This purchased arrived just in time too! I was almost out of argan oil and black soap. These two products have been a staple in my Winter beauty routine.
The argan oil has been a great tool to use underneath my moisturizer.
I also ordered two bars of black soap. My oldest daughter has been using the black soap as well. Now she has a bar all to herself.
I do plan on placing an order the next time Nature’s Shea Butter is on HauteLook. 🙂
Coastal Scents recently had an after Christmas sale. Everything on their website was 40% off. I purchased a few things to add to my Winter survival kit.
I really love the Coastal Scents Unrefined Shea Butter. It keeps the Winter dry skin away.
I wanted to continue to use black soap to keep my complexion clear. I decided to try the Black Soap with Shea Butter. I wanted a facial soap that would clean and moisturize my skin without drying it out.
Many of the essential oils I wanted were already sold out when I was placing my order. I decided to try the basil essential oil. I plan on adding a few drops of it to the castor oil I’m already using.
No Coastal Scents order is complete without a sample product to try. 🙂
