My oldest daughter Rae recently turned twenty-one years old. YAYYYY!!!!! Writing that sentence was the easy part. The hard part was helping her pick out a birthday outfit. Mid October can be a little tricky in Pittsburgh. Fall weather has started to make an appearance. There can still be some mild days too. The weather was definitely going to dictate the outfit Rae was going to wear. She decided to see what was already in her closet.
Rae bought this dress a couple of years ago from Charlotte Russe. She bought the shoes from Journeys back in 2011. She borrow the purse I bought from Charming Charlie.
Here is the makeup I used for her birthday look.

Homecoming for my youngest daughter Naomi was held Saturday, October 11th. Her friend Haley asked me to do her makeup. I realized when I was almost done with Haley’s makeup I didn’t take a before picture. She brought her own foundation, powder and lip color.
- Maybelline Fit Me ®Foundation – 125 Nude Beige
- bareMinerals Mineral Veil
Urban Decay Naked Palette
- Naked – used on the lid
- Buck – used on the crease
- Virgin – as a brow bone highlight
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil – Zero used on the upper lash line
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil – Smog used on the lower lash line
- Ardell Lashes #109
BH Cosmetics Floral Blush Duo – Rose
NYX Simply Red Lip Cream – Russian Roulette
Naomi already had in mind how much money she wanted to spend on her homecoming outfit.
Her dress was $50.00 from Burlington Coat Factory. She wore my shoes. The purse she carried is her sister’s. I’m pretty sure the purse used to be mine at some point. LOL!
I kept her makeup soft. The lip color she is wearing is NYX Round Case Lipstick in Lala.

He is a nice young man.
2014 marked the fifth year for Pittsburgh Fashion Week. The fashion action took place September 22-28, 2014. I recently attended the Macy’s Fashion Rocks fashion show that was held at the Macy’s in Downtown Pittsburgh. This fashion show displayed fashions you can wear for work that easily transitions for an evening out on the town. Guests also got a sneak preview of student designs from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. There were light refreshments from Savoy Restaurant in Pittsburgh.

There was also a local rock band to provide entertainment after the fashion show.
Charming Charlie was having a sale (buy three get one free). This sale applied to everything in the store including clearance items.
This is what I bought.
I can add flair to so many looks with these scarves. I spent only $14.97. 🙂
On my most recent visit to Burlington Coat Factory, I was looking for cute scarves. I like wearing scarves. It’s a great way for me to deal with a bad hair day or to add flair to an outfit.
I also saw these cute hair accessories too. I’ve been wearing my hair in a protective hairstyle to retain my length. This is a good way to jazz things up.
I discovered a new store during the Holiday shopping season. The store is called Charming Charlie. This store carries clothing and accessories. It was the sign in the window advertising a clearance sale that caught my interest. I was greeted by a sales associate who walked me over to a display that had purses on clearance. The purses were already marked down and the sale included 50% off of that price.
This is what I purchased.
The total came to $18.00 before the sales tax of 7% was applied. Not bad. 😉
I really needed some new Winter boots. When Macy’s had their Doorbuster Black Friday sale, I already knew I would find a good deal. I also used a 20% off coupon too!
I can’t afford UGG boots so Bearpaw is an alternative for me. I’ve bought Bearpaw boots for my daughters in the past. They did say Bearpaw boots keep your feet warm.
I ordered the Emma Tall Booties in black.
Nicki Minaj recently launched her clothing line for Kmart. When I went to my local Kmart today, this is what I found.
I know my daughters will like these clothes and accessories. The leggings in this collection are really cute too! 🙂
This past weekend October 12, 2013, my youngest daughter Naomi went to Homecoming. She is currently a sophomore in high school so she was really excited to go a second year.
Naomi has been telling her friends and classmates about my blog. One of her classmates asked if I would be able to do her makeup for homecoming.
I assured Lynne’s parents I would keep the makeup age appropriate.
I used NYX and Maybelline on Lynne’s eyes. I really liked the way Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Pure Pigments in Improper Copper looked on her.
I did Naomi’s hair and makeup. The dress she got from her big sister’s closet. The shrug and booties are mine.
Pittsburgh recently hosted its fourth annual Fashion Week. The festivities concluded on September 29, 2013.
Fashion Week in Pittsburgh made its debut in 2010. Seven days of fashion shows and events held at various venues throughout the city. I attended the fashion show that was held at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh on September 28, 2013. I saw the designs from some extremely talented students.
Miyoshi Anderson is the Executive Director & Founder of Pittsburgh Fashion Week. She is a native of Pittsburgh and has had a very successful modeling career.
