Winter Survival Kit Part One: Sally Beauty Supply Purchase

Winter Survival

One thing is for certain, Pittsburgh Winters are cold! My hair and skin really take a beating. This time around I made a couple of changes to my Winter hair routine.

Winter Survival 2              Last year I got great results using the Ion Repair Solutions Reconstructor.   In the past I would suffer from breakage during the Winter months. I wasn’t conditioning my hair enough. I use the Ion Repair Solutions Reconstructor as a weekly treatment for my hair.

Winter Survival 3This is actually the second bottle of the Jamaican Mango & Lime Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Rosemary I purchased. I massage my scalp with this castor oil. I will be using this Jamaican black castor oil with rosemary to seal my ends as well.

Winter Survival 4

Shea Moisture released the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen Grow & Restore collection last year. I picked the leave-in conditioner as something to try from this collection.

First Sally Beauty Supply Haul of 2014

To make sure I continue to take care of my hair during the Winter months, I went to Sally Beauty Supply. I decided to try another conditioner from the Ion Repair Solutions line. The Intensive Therapy Protein Rebuilder is a reconstructor for weak and damaged hair. Winter does stress out my hair so this conditioner is worth a try.

I also purchased bottles to make it easier for me to use the natural oils I purchased from Coastal Scents. I plan on making my own hot oil treatments too. 😉

CVS Haul: Featuring SheaMoisture

This week SheaMoisture products were buy one get one free. Hair care and baby products were included in this sale. This is actually the second time I have purchased SheaMoisture hair care products. The first time was for my oldest. The African Black Soap shampoo and conditioner worked wonders in soothing her dry scalp. I also purchased the Yucca & Baobab Anti-Breakage Masque. She said the mask made her hair soft and easy to detangle.

This time it was my turn to buy SheaMoisture for myself. I have made a serious effort this year to take better care of my hair. In the past my hair would get extremely dry during the Winter months and break off. I know Shea Moisture is very popular in the natural hair care community. I was already in the process of making changes to my hair routine. With SheaMoisture being buy one get one free I knew I had to take advantage of such a great deal.

My hair isn’t damaged, but I’m trying to prevent it from drying out.

I don’t consider myself as having fine or thin hair. This was the only hair masque type conditioner that was left at the CVS I visited.

Figured I’d try the Curl Enhancing Smoothie on my twist outs and bantu knot outs.
