Coastal Scents Purchase: Getting Ready for Winter Part II

Coastal Cocoa.jpgThe Winter months do have me fighting extra hard to maintain beautiful skin. Coastal Scents is currently having another sale on their website.

Coastal Cocoa2.jpgThis time around I purchased the cocoa butter and more black soap. I am continuing the non ashy Winter theme. The cocoa butter is a nice addition.

Coastal Black Soap

I purchased more black soap just to stock up. I previously purchased the Liquid Black Soap. I wanted to try the Liquid Black Soap with aloe vera.

I also purchased more the of Black Soap with Cocoa Butter and Black Soap with Shea Butter Unscented. This should take me well into Spring.

My Coastal Scents Purchase: Getting Ready for Winter

Coastal SheaCoastal Scents had an excellent sale to kick off the Holiday Season.

Coastal Shea2When I saw the shea butter was on sale I made sure to purchase 5lbs of it. Hopefully this amount will last me the entire winter. I refuse to be ashy. Shea butter is what saved my skin last year since it was extremely cold at times. The dry heat from the furnace can easily wreck my skin if I don’t take care of it.

Coastal Shea3.jpgI also purchased another bottle of the liquid black soap. My oldest daughter mainly uses this soap. She is trying to get in the habit of taking better care of her skin.

Coastal Samples.jpgIt is always nice to receive a sample eyeshadow palette as well.

Natural Products Purchase from Coastal Scents

Coastal Scents                                                  Coastal Scents recently had a sale on all of their natural products. I was really low on shea butter and black soap. These two items have been my trusted beauty must haves.

Coastal Scents 3                                                                            The Liquid Black Soap has always intrigued me. It’s worth a try.

Coastal Scents 2

  • Moisturizing Black Soap with Cocoa Butter
  • Moisturizing Black Soap with Shea Butter – Unscented

Coastal Scents 4                         I’ve already used the regular black soap from Coastal Scents. I will be trying these out in my skincare routine.

Coastal Scents 5

Coastal Scents 6                            I don’t like the way my skin feels when I used regular lotion. This was definitely a much needed purchase. 🙂

Nature’s Shea Butter Purchase from HauteLook

This is my first HauteLook purchase of 2015. I’ve been making an effort to buy things I actually need from HauteLook. They have fantastic sales and it’s easy to want to buy everything. This purchased arrived just in time too! I was almost out of argan oil and black soap. These two products have been a staple in my Winter beauty routine.

HauteLook Shea

HauteLook Shea3The argan oil has been a great tool to use underneath my moisturizer.

HauteLook Shea2I also ordered two bars of black soap. My oldest daughter has been using the black soap as well. Now she has a bar all to herself.

I do plan on placing an order the next time Nature’s Shea Butter is on HauteLook. 🙂

Winter Survival Kit Part Two: Coastal Scents Purchase

Winter Survival Again

Winter Survival Again2

Coastal Scents recently had an after Christmas sale. Everything on their website was 40% off. I purchased a few things to add to my Winter survival kit.

Winter Survival Again3I really love the Coastal Scents Unrefined Shea Butter. It keeps the Winter dry skin away.

Winter Survival Again4

Winter Survival Again5I wanted to continue to use black soap to keep my complexion clear. I decided to try the Black Soap with Shea Butter. I wanted a facial soap that would clean and moisturize my skin without drying it out.

Winter Survival Again6Many of the essential oils I wanted were already sold out when I was placing my order. I decided to try the basil essential oil. I plan on adding a few drops of it to the castor oil I’m already using.

Winter Survival Again SampleNo Coastal Scents order is complete without a sample product to try. 🙂

How I Survived the Rest of the Summer Beauty Favorites

The Fall weather is finally here in my area of the United States. I can always count on Pittsburgh Summers to be very hot and humid. It’s challenging to be cute in this type of weather. LOL! These are the beauty products I relied on to not look a hot mess during the Summer.

  • Black Soap from Nature’s Shea Butter
  • Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
  • BH Cosmetics Liquid Foundation – Deep Beige
  • NYX Eyebrow Gel – Espresso
  • NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer
  • BH Cosmetics 24 Piece Synthetic Makeup Brush Set
  • NYX Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner – Silky Cashmere
  • Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner – Lionfish
  • Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hand & Body Scrub
  • Shea Terra Organics White Chocolate Whipped Shea Butter Ultimate Moisturizing Body Cream

Summer Survival FaceThe skin on my face when the humidity is low is typically combination/oily. I notice my skin is oilier during the Summer with all the humidity. The Black Soap from Nature’s Shea Butter cleansed my skin thoroughly and helped keep my complexion clear.

Summer Survival SkinSpeaking of skin, the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hand & Body Scrub made my skin soft and smooth.

I applied the Shea Terra Organics White Chocolate Whipped Shea Butter after I bathed. This shea butter wasn’t greasy either.

Summer Survival Eyes

I received the deluxe sample of the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara from my August 2014 ipsy Bag. I instantly fell in love with this mascara. I didn’t necessarily need to wear eyeliner with this mascara. This was great for those mornings I was in a hurry.

I used NYX Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner in Silky Cashmere on my waterline to brighten my eyes. This was also a time saver for me when I didn’t wear a lot of eye makeup. I paired this eyeliner with the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara.

The Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Lionfish was a nice alternative for me instead of using black eyeliner on my lower lash line. For some black eyeliner can be a bit harsh. This eyeliner also gave me a natural look.

I really love the NYX Eyebrow Gel in Espresso. It stood up to Pittsburgh humidity. This eyebrow gel lasted all day. A little goes a long way.

Summer Survival FoundationI was really surprised by the performance and coverage of the BH Cosmetics Liquid Foundation. I originally bought two shades for myself (Deep Beige and Deep Cocoa). I found myself reaching for the Deep Beige more since I thought it was a better match on me. The color is buildable. This foundation didn’t make my skin oily and it didn’t oxidize.

Summer Survival Concealer  The NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in Nutmeg has been my go to concealer. This concealer did a great job on covering my blemish scars and hyper-pigmentation without feeling heavy.

Summer Survival BrushesI got a lot of use out of my BH Cosmetics 24 Piece Synthetic Brush Set. This set has all the brushes I used for the on Wednesdays we wear pink series I did for the Summer. The brushes didn’t shed when I cleaned them either.

Natural Products Purchase from Coastal Scents

Coastal Scents had an Earth Day sale. This sale lasted for a week. All of their natural products were 35% off. This included their soaps, butter, oils, and essential oils.

Since I’ve already been using the shea oil on my hair, it seemed logical to order another bottle.

Image

I also ordered more of the shea butter. My daughters have also been using shea butter. Winter was very hard on my oldest daughter’s skin. Regular lotion wasn’t working. I gave her some shea butter to try. She no longer has dry patches on her skin. My youngest daughter had burned her hand a little using a curling iron. I told her to try some shea butter since this was a minor burn. The shea butter worked on that as well.

I ordered the cocoa butter because it was on sale too.

I was also given a sample of the black soap. I’ve read great reviews about this soap and can’t wait to try it.
