Fat Tuesday of Mardi Gras is March 4, 2014. This is the last Day of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana

The Mardi Gras colors are:

  • Purple – Represents Justice
  • Green –Represents Faith
  • Gold – Represents Power

Ash Wednesday is always 46 days before Easter. Fat Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday.

ULTA Haul: Featuring NYX Cosmetics

I recently visited my favorite ULTA store located at the Waterfront in Homestead, PA (outside of Pittsburgh). I had an ULTA reward I wanted to use. I didn’t see anything I liked under the level three rewards. The General Manager of the store (his name is Mark) said I could pick three rewards under the level one. Mark knows I’m a regular customer at that ULTA. I went to pick out three of the NYX Butter Lip Balm only to find the display was sold out. Mark let me get three of the NYX Butter Glosses instead (can you say three for free).

I also decided to try the NYX Dark Circle Concealer. I read some great reviews about this concealer. I wanted to see what the hype was about.

Mini Maybelline Haul from Rite Aid

What can I say, Maybelline does it again! I never thought I would be a fan of their lipsticks. When Maybelline released the Color Sensational® the Buffs I knew I would purchase at least two lipsticks.

These lipsticks are very pigmented and creamy.

I also purchased the Face Studio Master™ Glaze in Plums Up. I really love this cheek color. The color is very pigmented so a little goes a long way but the color is buildable. Goes on smoothly and blends so nicely.

HauteLook Haul: Featuring Nature’s Shea Butter

I’ve been obsessed with shea butter recently. My skin has been doing really well this Winter since I’ve added this to my beauty routine. I was intrigued when I saw Nature’s Shea Butter on HauteLook. I decided to give this brand a try. I purchased the Shea Butter Mini Sampler 12-Piece Set.

I do see a difference in a color of the three shea butters above.

I also purchased a bottle of the Nature’s Shea Butter Argan Oil. I really wanted to try an argan oil that was pure.

Image This argan oil has no dyes or perfumes.

I Am Really Liking Zoya Nail Polish

The February 2014 ispy Bag is the third time I received a Zoya nail polish. I knew about Zoya nail polish from my numerous trips to ULTA. I would usually gravitate towards China Glaze or OPI. Zoya is now on my radar.

I was watching TV in my room and decided to break out the nail dotting tools.  This is what I did.

Carol’s Daughter Haul from Macy’s

I belong to the Pittsburgh based natural hair community on Facebook called It’s a Natural Thang. Recently someone posted the Macy’s in Pittsburgh was no longer carrying Carol’s Daughter. The inventory already in stock was being marked down to 50%. You don’t have to tell me twice when Carol’s Daughter is 50% off.
